In the first of three Quarter-Finals played this afternoon Dulwich College beat Sherborne School 20-10 in windy conditions. Whilst the Sherborne outside backs often looked dangerous the Dulwich forwards played magnificently and it was in that department they won the game. It was the huge Dulwich scrum that created the first try. They showed more forward dominance later in the half as they scored from a catch and drive. Sherborne fought back valiantly in the second half but it proved too big a mountain to climb. They can be proud of themselves and are straight back in action on Sunday in the South Coast Sevens.

The match between Wilmslow and Warwick was moved from Burnage to Wilmslow but home advantage didn’t immediately count as Warwick capitalised on a handling error, hacked through and scored a converted try to lead 7-0. Wilmslow built some momentum at the end of the first half and went into the changing rooms with their tails up. At the start of the second they suddenly had not only the crowd but the wind behind them. They scored a converted try early in the half and then a penalty to take the lead. Warwick settled down and showed some of the maturity that has been developing this season to put the pressure on and win a kickable penalty. Whilst they missed, they quickly won another which they slotted to tie the match 10-10. As the away team they progress to the Semi-Finals.

In an extremely tight game dominated by defence Northampton School for Boys beat King's Macclesfield 3-0. Play was stopped early for a long medical time out and neither team settled going into half time 0-0. After the break Northampton capitalised on their territorial advantage to score 3 points and despite their best efforts Kings couldnt get the drop goal or penalty that would have seen them go through as the away team.

The Semi-Finals will be drawn soon and we will post them when we have them confirmed.
