Welcome to the New Look Schools’ Rugby Website. You will find all the features you are familiar with and we’ve added some new ones we think you will like.

As before you can follow your team’s progress via Find Your School throughout the season, monitor their position in the various leagues, research the opposition’s prowess before a match, tweet about the score during the game and then chat about it afterwards in the Forums. If you want to join in the fun and make sure your team’s playing records are bang up-to-date your school you will need FixturesPRO.

The Homepage now includes a Results Ticker where the very latest results will stream through. The site is also integrated with Twitter so you can keep all of your followers up-to-speed if you are spectating at the big match and your team is in the process of crushing your local rivals.

We have also improved the team pages to include more statistical information and in particular we hope you enjoy Team Tracker, which allows you to track the progress of your team during their tenure at the school. For instance if you are following the U15s then you can see their playing record last season as the U14s, or their record the season before that when they were U13s – this is all possible with one mouse click.

We have also made one change to the SchoolsSports.com Performance Leagues, which now rewards matches that are drawn. Of course the leagues remain “notional” and intended to let everyone see what’s happening over the entire rugby landscape. We hope they will continue to stimulate much discussion and debate!

You will also find a new calendar, where you can find out What’s on. This includes fixtures as well as upcoming competitions on any given day and those competitions running over several weeks or school terms. Competition Microsites have really take off. As we enter the sevens circuit we aim to cover as much as we can, with the Shiplake Sevens opening this weekend through to the Rossyln Park HSBC Nationals in March.

The Team Awards continue to roll in …here is where you will find the Rugby World, Rugby Paper and Kick Photo Teams of the month. Don’t forget you can register for our forums where you can debate the selections or voice your opinion on who should be the Team of the Month or Team of the Year.

We now have In the Spotlight, which covers more teams across all ages levels. We’re often approached by coaches, players and parents who feel their team deserves some attention. We’d therefore like to shine a broader beam of light on these teams, players and the coaches involved at all levels and for any sport. “In the Spotlight” is not just meant to be the reserve of unbeaten sides: it could be that your U12s have lost five matches in a row and have bounced back to beat their major rivals, or a prop scores 5 times in a match. We’d love to feature a coach who has been in charge for 30 years (and maybe his team has just won their first match!!). So if there is a budding journalist in your school then ask them to pen a short (or long) summary explaining why the sport, team, player or coach deserves a mention and should be “in the Spotlight”. A high quality photo of the team or an action shot must be included with the submission.

Coming Soon we will be re-launching our Representative Section and you will be able to set up the website to reflect your preferences…….so if you want the site to reflect the fact you are a parent at a particular age group at a particular school then the site will remember that and display the relevant information accordingly.

We hope you like the New Look Schools’ Rugby Website and we look forward to reading your tweets and Forum posts and seeing you on the touchlines soon! Don’t forget to follow us @SchoolsSports, or include #SchoolsRugby in your tweets. Let’s get SchoolsRugby “trending”…because the future of the game is here!
