The Daily Mail Trophy kicks off this weekend and there are some great games to look forward to. One of the strong points of the new competition is that there is no wait for the big matches. Looking at the playing schedule for Saturday it’s hard to pick a stand out fixture: they are all great contests.

There are some traditional regional derbies to look forward to: Durham School host Barnard Castle in the North, Blundell’s play Sherborne in the South West, Bromsgrove host Denstone in the Midlands and Wellington College play RGS High Wycombe in the South East.

There are also some fantastic matches between sides who will expect to do well in the Trophy this year: Brighton College play Cranleigh in what should be a great game featuring two the strongest sides in the country, and Epsom host Tonbridge in a match that is always close. Warwick host Millfield in a match where both sides have had success in recent seasons, and Stowe will play Stamford hoping to continue their early season good form.
