Cheltenham College are on course to record their first top 10 finish in the SOCS Daily Mail Schools Trophy.
Three wins in a week have kept Cheltenham in fifth place in this national competition sponsored by the school management system, SOCS.
So far the Gloucestershire team have won all nine Trophy games and need one more to better last season's mark which gained them 16th place overall.
Coached by ex-England and Gloucester full-back Olly Morgan, Cheltenham are among the most improved teams in the 100-strong competition having only won two games two seasons ago.
Morgan puts the rise down to hard work and an 'amazing group of players' he has coached since their under-14 days.
'The majority of the team have come up together and have worked together. It's been very rewarding and their development has been very exciting,' Morgan said.
Morgan is developing a strong Gloucester connection helped by the emergence of wing Ollie Thorley, a former pupil, featuring regularly for the Premiership club.
'Ollie's success in coming through the school system and academy shows what can be achieved for the players following behind him,' Morgan added.
That connection has been given a further push by two of the present team – centre Tom Stanton and No 8 Cam Terry - playing for Gloucester's A team this season.
Cheltenham's hat-trick week brought wins over Clifton (19-0), Radley (24-0) and Monmouth (20-12).

They two more matches to play in the Trophy – against Sherborne (December 2) and Blundell's (December 9).
The title looks set to be fought out by the top two in champions Wellington and second-placed Sedbergh who meet on Wednesday November 29 at Broad Street RFC in Coventry, kick off 5.30pm.
Unbeaten Wellington, who overcame Sherborne 29-15 last weekend, face Harrow on Saturday.
Sedbergh, who are unbeaten in eight Trophy games, beat Warwick, 26-10, helped by a try from centre Cameron Redpath, who played for Sale in two Anglo-Welsh Cup games this season.
