Haileybury are displaying the playing characteristics of their coach in ex-Wales captain Michael Owen.
The Hertfordshire school, who recruited the former Saracens No 8 to head up their rugby five years ago, have posted two spirited wins so far in this season's SOCS Daily Mail Schools Trophy.
After a low-key campaign last season, Haileybury have bounced back by defeating Felsted and Oundle in this national competition sponsored by SOCS, the school management system.

'We haven't been at our best yet, but the spirit and defence has been encouraging,' said Owen.
The 14-5 win over Oundle, who led for along period, came thanks to late tries by fly half Louis Aylwin and centre Phoenix Healy.
Haileybury, who use Saracens' ground for some high-profile games, were following up after an opening 15-7 win over Felsted.
One outstanding player has been prop Ehimen Osebor, who scored a crucial try against Felsted and is a member of the Saracens academy.
Stamford also produced a last-gasp win over Bromsgrove, 13-11, thanks to a dropped goal from 35 metres by Kieran Callnan.

Former champions Wellington are out to topple holders Sedbergh judging by early results in putting three wins together over Dulwich, Northampton School for Boys and Whitgift.
The 31-8 win over Whitgift demonstrated Wellington's strength in an annual match held in memory of former pupil Seb Adeniran-Olule, who died in a road traffic incident in 2016.
Sedbergh, who are chasing a third successive title, are also unbeaten in three games, the latest coming over former champions Woodhouse Grove, 39-11, in a match staged at the Wharfedale club in Yorkshire last Friday.
